Podcasting Day 2
Day 2 (Production – Recording) Sample Outline
Objectives:
- Be familiar with the Library audio recording resources
- Know how to record on Garage Band and on Podcasting Room
- Create a short audio intro for their personal podcast
- Record a video with their audio as well
*make sure to go sign in and set up before the class begins*
How to reserve the recording rooms:

- Reserve ahead of time!
- Pull up your intro script
Recording in the Studio: *one teacher take each room, podcasting and sound booth*
- Podcasting Room:
- Use a Soundboard to record
- It goes onto a microSD card
- You can use the sound board to record (I would recommend taking a bit of your prep to go in and become familiar with the equipment
- Use a Soundboard to record
- Sound Booth:
- Use Garageband to record
- Create a new project, Audio track
- Record button at the top
- Change input for the microphone/MIDI cord for the audio tracks
- Use Garageband to record
- Go over any questions that people have, and give them time to record like 2 sentences for their intro!
- Remember to review File Types and storing (mp4 versus garage band project, etc)
Make sure to gather during the last few minutes of class in the classroom to go over getting your files onto cloud storage:

- You can use the SD card to do that (might need a MicroSD converter, borrow from Equipment) or you can email/Box/Cloud storage your files

- Teachers: put files from recording day onto a file to download on LearnSoftware!!
