Creating a blank canvas in Photoshop

• Make a new document of the correct size for your project

Adding text 

• Type tool
• Changing attributes with the paragraph and character panels
• Type on Mask tool (practice this before-hand) These tools don’t exist
• You can still talk about layer styles to add effects to your text like a drop shadow. Layer>Layer Styles

Creating shapes Note: the Polygon Tool is called the Parametric Shape tool

Example Activity: Have the students practice creating their own posters, invitations, or fliers by using the tools we talked about today. If there’s time, you can even go over the principles of design.
