Learn the ins and outs of checking out equipment so you can help patrons with questions when the equipment room is closed or busy.

Things you should learn:

• How the Libcal website works in regards to checking out equipment
• How the lockers work for checking in equipment past ER closing
• The types of cameras and lenses available
• The types of microphones and audio equipment available
• What other equipment is available (tripods, GoPros, lights, etc.)
• Typical amount of time an item can be checked out and when that changes
• Policies on what to do with broken/missing equipment
• Who to contact for general equipment room problems and questions

Once you’re familiar with everything above, check out a piece of equipment from the ER that you’re unfamiliar with. Use it for a badge/project, then return it when you’re done.
