Acrobat Competency

There is no Sage of Acrobat.

This competency is to test your ability to manipulate and create PDFs. To complete the competency project you must:

Create a PDF portfolio

This portfolio must include:

• 1 PDF created from Microsoft Office
• 1 PDF created from any Adobe CS program
• 1 PDF of a website
• a graphic (JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.)
• A Form that includes:
  • Text fields
  • Radial buttons
  • Check buttons
  • A reset button
  • A field that calculates something
  • A submit button that emails either the details or a filled copy of the PDF to your email address
• A masterful work of art created in Microsoft Paint, made into a PDF
• A cover page that was completely created in Adobe Acrobat
• Security applied (be able to explain how this works)

Also be able to explain

• What a PDF is and why they are important
• How to merge and split documents
• Make simple text and graphic edits
• Create bookmarks and have them show up by default
• Create links
• Create headers and footers
• Typewriter tool
• Optimize Scanned Document
• Distribute and Track Forms
